History of Jupiter Mosman Housing Company Limited

Where it all began; During the late 1960's and early 1970's First Nation People of the Charters Towers area were experiencing a national change. This change came into effect from the 1967 Australian Referendum, the referendum put the following question to the Australian people: Do you approve the proposed law for the alteration of the Constitution entitled ' An Act to alter the Constitution so as to omit certain words relating to the people of the Aboriginal race in any state and so that Aboriginals are to be counted in reckoning the population?

From that day forward the Local First Nations people (Gudjala people) of Charters Towers set out to ensure their people and families received an equality of services with "Housing" being the priority.
